Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County: A female in her 70s and a female in her 90s, both had underlying health conditions. There have been 159 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.
Additionally, there were 87 new COVID-19 cases reported today in Washoe County with 52 recoveries. There are 1,386 active cases in Washoe County, the second highest mark ever recorded (1,418 on Sept. 19 was the highest).
For the week of Sept. 20-26, COVID-19 cases in Washoe County among the 18-24 age group were 4 to 4.5 times higher than any other age group. The 189 cases in that age group accounted for 27.2 percent of the 693 total cases reported for the week. See more COVID-19 statistics on our Washoe County COVID-19 Dashboard.

- Deaths: 159 (+2)
- Recovered: 7,997 (+52)
- Active cases: 1,386 (+33)
- Currently hospitalized: 58 (-7)
- Cases who have discharged from hospital: 662 (+6)

Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of September 29:
- 58 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (-3% since 9/28)
- 43 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+1%)
- 12 percent of all ventilators are in use (-2%)
