Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting two COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County: A female in her 60s with underlying health conditions and a male in his 70s and it’s undetermined if there were underlying health conditions.

The total COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County, however, only rose by one to 197. The reasoning for that is because the Washoe County Health District subtracted one COVID-19-related death today that was reported previously. It was determined that the case in question lived outside of Washoe County.

Additionally, we’re reporting 248 new COVID-19 cases and 148 recoveries. The seven-day moving average for new COVID-19 cases per day in Washoe County is at 197.7, a new record (Previous record was 182.7 on Oct. 28). In comparison, on Oct. 5 the seven-day average was 79.3. See more local statistics on the Washoe County COVID-19 Dashboard here.

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County. In the event of a decrease in tests, the likely cause is a cleanup of the data and removing unintended duplications.
