Washoe County School District to conduct distance learning for remained of school year
The Washoe County School District received direction from Gov. Sisolak and the Nevada Department of Education on Tuesday to conduct distance learning for the remainder of the school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We join with state education and health officials in carrying out this directive because the health and safety of our students and staff members is our highest priority.
WCSD is working to put together the next phase of distance learning materials and will be communicating with families with information about when those will be available. WCSD will also be sending out information to our Class of 2020, their parents, and guardians in regard to graduation ceremonies in the near future.
As a reminder, the distribution of free meals will continue at more than 20 sites around the School District, and that information is available on our website at www.washoeschools.net. Click on the link that says “Food Resources” at the top of the page. The news release with further information from Interim Superintendent Dr. Kristen McNeill can be accessed here.
