Washoe County declares emergency in Hidden Valley

The Board of County Commissioners ratified an emergency declaration in response to the flash flood event in Hidden Valley that occurred June 19, 2026. Washoe County expects to meet the cost threshold to warrant an emergency declaration that can trigger assistance from the State of Nevada. To date, crews have dedicated more than 1,900 labor hours costing $200,000. They have cleared 5,400 tons of mud and debris and opened and cleared 78 drainage inlets.
