75th COVID-19-related death reported in Washoe County

Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting an additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 60s with underlying health conditions. There are 75 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County. Five days went by without a reported COVID-19-related death in Washoe County.

Additionally, there are 56 new cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County with 17 recoveries. There are 913 active COVID-19 cases in Washoe County, the highest point on record. Two weeks ago, on Monday, June 15, 2020, there were 640 active COVID-19 cases in Washoe County (+273).

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 2,656 (+56 from 6/28)
  • Deaths: 75 (+1)
  • Recoveries: 1,668 (+17)
  • Active cases: 913 (+38)
  • Currently hospitalized: 78 (-1)
  • Cases who have discharged from hospital: 229 (+2)

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of June 29: 49,258 (+639 since 6/28)

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of June 29, 2020:

  • 74 percent of all staffed short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (-3% since June 28)
  • 42 percent of the all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-8%)
  • 19 percent of all ventilators are in use (+4%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
