561 COVID-19 cases, 4 COVID-19-related deaths reported

Nov. 15, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting a record 561 additional COVID-19 cases in Washoe County with four COVID-19-related deaths. The deceased are three males and one female, all but one had an underlying health condition.

The 561 new COVID-19 cases are a single-day record (previous was 529 on 11/13). The record for most cases in one day has been set three times in the last nine days

Active cases have eclipsed 5,000 with 433 additional reported today for a total of 5,425.

  • Total COVID-19 cases in Washoe County: 18,626 (+561 from 11/14)
  • Deaths: 219 (+4)
  • Recovered: 12,982 (+124)
  • Active cases: 5,425 (+433)

COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County

  • Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of November 15: 207,749 (+2,378 since 11/14)

Note: These figures are provided by the State of Nevada and can be found on the State Dashboard. COVID-19 tests may include non-Washoe County residents who were tested in Washoe County.

Hospital bed and ventilator information

According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of November 13 (Numbers not updated on weekends):

  • 85 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (+0% since 11/12)
  • 72 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (+0%)
  • 56 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-9%)
  • 33 percent of all ventilators are in use (+6%)

NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.

Washoe County seeks public feedback on COVID-19 support efforts

COVID-19 cases are still surging, but Washoe County is seeking public input on how the pandemic has affected residents and businesses in order to formulate a recovery plan. 

The county and regional partners have issued two public surveys that will create the foundation for effective recovery planning. The surveys seek to understand financial, educational, social, and emotional impacts on the community, as well as employment and economic losses. Participate now.
