538 COVID-19 cases, 6 COVID-19-related deaths reported

Nov. 25, 2020. Reno/Sparks, NV – The Regional Information Center is reporting six COVID-19-related deaths for the second day in a row. The deceased are:
- Male in his 50s, underlying health condition
- Female in her 90s, unknown if underlying health conditions
- Male in his 70s, no underlying health condition
- Female in her 90s, underlying health condition
- Female in her 90s, underlying health condition
- Male in his 40s, no underlying condition
There have been 258 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County including 12 reported in the last two days.
Additionally, there were 538 new COVID-19 cases reported with 137 recoveries.
With Thanksgiving tomorrow, residents are urged to avoid gathering with people from outside their household, especially with friends and family who have underlying health conditions. See the COVID-19 underlying health conditions here; they include those who are obese as well as those with heart or lung issues.

- Total number of COVID-19 tests performed in Washoe County as of November 25: 229,746 (+1,762 since 11/24)

Hospital bed and ventilator information
According to the Nevada Hospital Association, in Washoe County as of November 25 (Numbers not updated on weekends):
- 83 percent staffed hospital beds are occupied (+0% since 11/24)
- 71 percent of all licensed hospital beds are occupied (+0%)
- 59 percent of all Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (+4%)
- 31 percent of all ventilators are in use (+1%)
NOTE: Numbers are for all hospital patients in Washoe County and not just COVID-19 patients.
No Regional Information Center Update on Thanksgiving
Regional Information Center will not be sending a Washoe County COVID-19 update on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, 2020. Read more.
The Health District COVID-19 Test Site and the COVID-19 Call Center will also be closed on Thanksgiving. The Call Center will reopen Friday, Nov. 27, 2020. The next COVID-19 testing day at the Livestock Events Center will be Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020. You can sign up for a COVID-19 test online here. (En Espanol).
Volunteer to help fight COVID-19 in Washoe County
The Washoe County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is looking for medical professionals or those without medical experience to volunteer to help fight COVID-19 in Washoe County.
MRC was created to support public health and emergency response efforts during natural disasters and other emergencies by providing trained volunteers to help staff shelters, alternate care sites, and points of dispensing. Given the rise in hospitalizations and increased demand in COVID-19 testing, volunteers are needed to support the region.
